Bennie is anything BUT a princess! Bennie is now retired from agility and breeding. She was the first really fast agility dog I ever trained. She was an amazing teacher, pushing me to find new ways to not only handle a fast dog in agility but also how to train a dog that thought she was more intelligent than me! Bennie showed natural ability at a very early age; she taught herself how to retrieve any object. She can and still does retrieve anything! She even taught all the other dogs in the house to retrieve their dishes. Bennie still has natural drive, great toy and tug drive, and at 12.5 years is still my best girl. In her agility career, she mainly competed in AKC agility, earning multiple titles. She has produced many litters, all with dogs that are ultra-competitive in their sports. Her puppies have gone on to earn Championship titles in Agility, Dock Diving, Rally, and Barn Hunt. She has also produced puppies that became certified therapy dogs. Within AKC Agility, she has produced 4 AKC Agility Grand Champion dogs as well as 7 other dogs earning MACH (Master Agility Champion) titles, with many of those same dogs consistently ranked in the Top 10 USASA standings as well as the Breed Power 10 scores, and that is just AKC Agility. She also produced dogs earning championship titles in UKI Agility.

Bennie has been the best momma dog; she was an amazing puppy raiser and still “mothers” the other dogs in our pack. She loves puppies, and it is amazing to watch her interact with puppies, teaching them appropriate dog behaviors.

Bennie is the textbook definition of the Australian Shepherd female:

From www.ASCA.org, “The Australian Shepherd is intelligent, primarily a working dog of strong herding and guardian instincts. (S)He is an exceptional companion. (S)He is versatile and easily trained, performing her/ his assigned tasks with great style and enthusiasm. (S)He is reserved with strangers but does not exhibit shyness. Although an aggressive, authoritative worker, viciousness toward people or animals is intolerable.”

Bennie has passed all these wonderful traits to her offspring. I am lucky to call her mine and have such an amazing life with her.
